Our Mission: To offer hope for a life of meaning and dignity to the orphaned and abandoned children of Nicaragua’s Pearl Lagoon Basin region by providing loving care and a Christian education in a stable home environment.
On the remote Caribbean coast of Nicaragua, thousands of children live on the streets in undeveloped colonias. Having been orphaned or abandoned due to extreme poverty, they often have little more than the clothes on their backs. Their lives are an ongoing struggle to obtain basic needs for their safety and survival. For most, that does not include the luxury of going to school.
Children’s Home Sweet Home is a Christian, nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a self-sustaining orphanage and school. We are committed to:
Creating a safe, healthy, stable Christian environment for children to thrive
Identifying and serving the region's children most in need by coordinating with local and regional agencies
Providing Christian education that meets national education standards and the needs of the region's multiethnic children
Tending to the children's medical needs
Continuing to assist Children's Home Sweet Home residents after they graduate
Promoting the well-being of women in the region
Raising food and cash crops such as pineapples and coconuts so that operations are self-sustainable
Continually seeking the Lord's guidance in building, growing, and sustaining Children's Home Sweet Home
